Case Study

From History to Legacy

Client

A daughter in her late twenties, from the fourth generation of wealth.

Problem

Her father wanted her to better understand and take more responsibility in the family business so she could oversee its legacy.

Solution

The daughter knew very little about her great grandfather, except the odd reference made at family events, and so the first task was to establish a record and history of the family. This included a written document explaining the family values and their origins so that it could be a guide, not just for her but for future generations too.

Once she had understood the history of the family it was much easier for her to plot the future of the underlying business. This involved a rapid education in the investments and assets the family had bought. This work was conducted a few years ago and the daughter has now established herself as a key person in the family business.
