Case Study

Investment without the inclination

Client

A former lawyer looking for portfolio management help.

Problem

Our client was living overseas and had neither the time, nor the inclination, to meet several investment managers or procure professional services from third parties. Nonetheless, he wanted to make sure that his wealth was being well looked after.

Solution

We were appointed to help find and subsequently appoint our client’s investment manager. Ever since being appointed, we hold regular meetings with both the client and the manager (often separate and sometimes together) to ensure that the manager is meeting the required mandate.

The client has since introduced his wife to the discussions. This has helped her engage with the family office and informed her understanding—and sometimes fears—of the investment markets.
